God’s heart is for humanity. It’s our aim to lead people closer to the heart of God; making disciples who become disciple-makers who are lead by the Spirit of God and grounded in the Holy Scriptures. From potlucks to weekly gathers, to coffee with our pastors, or growing in your understanding of the Holy Spirit, there are two great aways to get connected: Connect with God and Connect with us!
The Word of God shapes our worldview and is our primary way of hearing God, knowing God, building community, and living life. We have a passion to address the biblical illiteracy of this age. At Heart, we will teach how to study the Bible, so that adults and students alike can discover all God has for them. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
To us, the Presence is a person. While we value the Word of God as our foundation, we prioritize being in the presence of God believing a quality relationship includes time spent together, rather than only knowledge of one another. We spend time with God through prayer and worship. (Matthew 6:9, John 4:1-26, Acts 2:28)
In today’s day and age, there are many people with messages; some good, some not so good. For Heart Church, Jesus is our message. It is through Him that we have access to the heart of God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6; 1-14)
We value people and are passionate about creating spaces where people can connect with God and each other. We cherish growth in each individual’s God-awareness, self-awareness, and awareness of others. (John 3:16, 1 John 4:7-11)
Don’t mind us. 😉 We’re just two grown-up pastors kids who know that church can be boring. We’d like to resolve this in a few ways: 1) God is welcome at Heart church. When God shows up, incredible things take place. 2) Marking milestones by developing and celebrating growth in relationships and as a believer is fun! 3) Creativity and fun activities for all ages within our community gatherings. 4) Thinking about the future and asking, “What could God do through the Heart family when we combine our efforts in His name?” 5) We live from a place of rest, rather than living for rest. To honor the Sabbath, we consider our pace of life and make space for celebrations and challenges. (Exodus 20:8-9, Psalm 136, Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 4:11-16)
“Church” was never meant to be a place we leave a 5-star review. We believe we are the church; a local expression of and a contributing family in the global church, the Body of Christ. This mindset calls for a change in our lifestyle, one that is counter-culture. We get involved in our Sunday morning gatherings to be encouraged, challenged, and lead closer to the heart of God. Local churches were never meant to be a place we attend, they were meant to be a community of people who share their time, gifts and skills. Ultimately, so that we have the courage to continue in our personal relationships with Jesus and live for him as ministers at home, in the marketplace, and beyond. (Acts 2:40-47, 1 Corinthians 12:11-32)
We are blessed to be a blessing, but not just with finances and volunteering our time. It is a privilege to have received God’s abundant grace and forgiveness. Therefore, we will choose to forgive, have grace for one another, and believe the best in each other as we are all growing in the Lord. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Ephesians 4:32, 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15)
We value the local church. Large gatherings, small gatherings, social media, online or in-person, we love it all. And because we believe the Gospel should go everywhere, we’ll go there! (Mark 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25)
Hi! We are Trevin and Stephanie! Together, we (Pastor Trevin & Pastor Steph) have ministry experience that includes Bible teaching, leading services that are presence-driven and preaching with a prophetic edge. At length, we’ve participated in leadership development and trainings, team building and resourcing, worship leading, pastoral care, generations ministries (kids/youth), outreach, creative ministries, and deliverance ministries. We love to have fun but are serious about the movement of Christianity in our generation and seeing God move on the earth in our day.
The Scriptures have been written by men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is relevant to all people, everywhere. Being inspired by God, the Bible is without error and pertinent to everyday life as a believer. (1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16)
God has revealed Himself as one God existing in the three person: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each of these roles is unique from the others but, at the same time, they cannot be separated from each other. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God designed man and woman in His own image. When the first man and woman disobeyed God, they introduced sin resulting in the fall of mankind from the relationship with God and the status of authority that God intended for them and their descendants to walk in. (Romans 5:12,18, Romans 3:10,23; 6:23; 14:23; James 4:17; 1 John 5:17)
God reveals Himself throughout Scripture as a faithful, loving father. Despite man’s continual disobedience and rebellion towards God, He continually acts graciously towards us. His story unfolding throughout eternity is that of unconditional love. (Luke 15:20-24, James 1:16-18, John 14:1-6, Ephesians 2:17-19, Matthew 6:6-13)
Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary, and lived on earth as fully man and fully God. By living a perfect life, He has met the requirements of God for righteousness. Through the sacrifice of His life upon a roman cross, He has enabled forgiveness of sins. He rose from the dead after 3 days and, in doing so, offers us the ability to follow Him in living victorious over sin and death. (Acts 1:20; Romans 4:25; I Corinthians 15:1-8, Matthew 24; Mark 16:19; John 14:2-3; Acts 1:9-11; Philippians 2:5-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:28)
When Jesus ascended to Heaven after being resurrected from the dead, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower believers to live a victorious life over sin. The Holy Spirit baptizes the believer internally and gives spiritual gifts (including speaking in tongues) that strengthen and encourage the church. (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Ephesians 4:8-12)
Salvation is a free gift which cannot be earned but received only by faith and the repentance of sins. We are restored to relationship with God and the status of authority we were designed for by God’s grace. (Romans 5:11; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12,22)
God instructs believers to be identified with Christ through water baptism. It is a symbolic and spiritual act signifying death to sin and being resurrected with a new identity in Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38,39; 19:1-6)ns 5:11; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12,22)
Man was created to exist forever. Salvation gives us access to eternity in Heaven with God. While the rejection of God and His gift of salvation result in an eternity separated from Him. (John 3:16; 5:24, Mark 9:43-48; II Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15)
The church is God’s plan for believers to learn and grow in relationship with Him. Unified through faith and the desire to glorify God, the church is God’s community of people who are committed to becoming more like Him. (Acts 2; I Corinthians 11; Hebrews 10:25)
